As of March, 2010 we will be selecting new prefects. This position is open to any grade 9 or 10 student that is interested. You will have to fill out an application form and attend an interview held by Mme Goudreau, Mme Prachar and the head prefects. For the application form you will simply need to state your name, homeroom and grade and give a list of school and outside activities you have taken part in in the past few years. Prefect InformationThe RWA Prefecture is composed of Secondary IV and V students who are chosen to participate in the maintenance of order and to act as hosts for school functions. These senior students are available for duties during the regular school day, at evening events and occasionally on professional days. Prefects must set a high standard of behaviour that all students should emulate. Only students who have demonstrated respect for others and for the school’s traditions are suitable candidates. It is an honour to be selected as a prefect. As a prefect, you must always seek to maintain the respect and admiration of the school community through the performance of your duties and your attitude in your everyday contacts with staff and students. As a tangible reward for their services, prefects are given the use of the Prefect Room outside of school hours. In addition, they are given the use of a tartan vest. The specific duties of a prefect include: supervision in the cafeteria and the library on a regular basis; supervision during assemblies and graduation ceremonies; ushering at plays; assisting at evenings for parents; acting as hosts to the school, and other similar activities. The staff, the current prefects and the administration of the school will process your application. |
