ID PHOTO RETAKES

Please be advised that the date for ID Photo Retakes has been moved to Monday, September 27, 2010.  In addition, Graduation Photos will take place on the 23rd and 24th of September. Make sure to change the above dates in your agendas as well as your school calendars.  Administration 09/27

RWAEC - BIKE CLUB

To all people who are interested in cycling, whether it be mountain, road or leisure biking, there will be a new club this year that will hopefully organize a few bike-ins and maybe a trip or two (sport or enviro credit could involved). Active transport is a known solution to both health problems and air pollution. Be a part of the solution! Yes We Can Tomatoes

Learn how to preserve tomatoes for pasta or pizza sauce or any other recipe calling for stewed tomatoes while being environmentally sustainable. Brought to you by teachers behind the Environment Committee and those who brought you the Italy Gastro trip, this will be the first of several cooking workshops where local ingredients are  preserved at the peak harvest time to ensure availability of local produce during the winter and thus reducing the need for imported produce.

Canning will take place on Tuesday Sept 14 from 15h - 19h00

Sauce making will take place on Wednesday from 15h- 17h00

For more information and to sign up, come to a MANDATORY meeting in room 210 at 15h10 on Thursday September 9th. Limited space available.


Clarification for Yes We Can... tomatoes

Those who are unable to attend Thursday's mandatory info-meeting because of religious holidays must come on Wednesday after school at the same time in 210. J. Dufault 09/09

Grade 7 Walk & Talk Group
The response has been overwhelming and all the places to sign up have been filled. The group will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 and run for 10 consecutive weeks at lunch time. GRADE 11 NEW YORK CITY TRIP

Mandatory meeting at 12:30 on Wednesday September 8th in the Auditorium for all grade 11 students wishing to attend the New York City Trip.  All forms will be handed out and important information given. Mrs. O'Neil 09/08


BASYK MAGYK
Do you want to learn the Physiks of Basyk Magyk? Are you mesmerized by how cards take flight, ropes float, and minds can be read? If you answered yes, and are a grade 7 or 8 student who would like to learn the secrets of Basyk Magyk, you may sign up on the bulletin board outside of Mr. Monachino's office door. Sessions will be held every Thursday at lunch hour for 6 weeks. An ECA credit will magically appear upon completion of the 6 week sessions.

Composting Matters - Volunteers needed
If you are interested to join the Composting Matters team and help divert organic waste away from the landfills, come to room 104 on Wednesday September 8th at 12:30 sharp for a brief meeting. This will be your only occasion to sign up. Green credits will be awarded to those who complete their tour of duty! The Environment Committee. 09/08


Boys Touch football - Sign up outside 104
Any grade 9 to 11 interested in joining a juvenile boys touch football team should sign up before Wednesday, September 8th 2010 outside of room 104. XD 09/08

Junior Boys Volleyball Tryouts

Anyone interested in joining the boy’s volleyball team is asked to come to tryouts in the boys gym this Tuesday and Wednesday, September 7 and 8. You should be dressed and ready to go by 3:10. Expect to stay till 4:30 pm. J. Zigby 09/08

Welcome Back Barbecue date change
To all students and staff at RWA the Welcome Back BBQ has been moved to Thursday, September 16th. There will be an extended lunch. Students will be dismissed from class at 12pm and are expected back in class for period 5. Thank you. J. Zigby 09/16


Dance Show Tryouts - To all RWA students the schedule for tryouts are as follows:

Wednesday Sept 8th:         Grades 7 + 8 (girls only)
Friday Sept 10th:               Grade 9 + 10 (girls only)
Tuesday Sept 14th:            Girls in grade 7 - 10 who missed the earlier tryouts.
Wednesday Sept 15th:       Grade 11 girls and Grades 7 - 11 boys
Thursday Sept 16th:           Ballet / Lyrical auditions
Friday Sept 17th:               Tap / Latin auditions.

X-Country Running

Anyone wishing to participate on the X-Country Running Team, please attend the first practice on Thursday September 9th in the New Gym.  Sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside of the New Gym office.  Grade 7's - if you are attending the Quebec City Trip, you will not be eligible for this team since the Race Date is while you are away. ATTENTION ALL GRADE 7 STUDENTS
Are you interested in an enjoyable way to meet new people, have fun, and earn an extra-curricular credit as well? If so then this is your lucky day! Simple sign up for the annual RWA "Walk & Talk" group. This group will meet for 10 consecutive weeks (once a week), have lunch together outside and then go for a brisk walk in the community during the lunch hour. Games will be played and yes, there will even be prizes awarded as well. All this and you will also earn a cultural or community ECA credit!
In order to join in the fun all you have to do is sign up on the sheet in the guidance area at the end of the corridor in the office. Space is limited to the first 30 students who sign up, so don't delay! H. Held Student-Services 09-08

Students in grades 8- 9-10-11 interested in coaching please write a short paragraph stating why you are interested in coaching, your competitive swimming experience,  other aquatics experience, aquatics certification and  swim coaching experience.
